The design of this rug draws inspiration from Asian culture, specifically from the ribbons and knots of the obi — the traditional belts of Japanese kimonos. These belts were traditionally crafted from pure silk, just like the precious foundation of this rug, intersected by wool lines.
A frame running along the edge of the rug enhances the impression of a three-dimensional grid.
