Maxim Havlíček – A Czech Artist Between Prague and Los Angeles
Maxim Havlíček (*1974) is a visual artist whose work blends calligraphy, abstraction, and experimentation with materials. He grew up in Prague, shaped by the atmosphere of the communist regime as well as classical training at the Hellichovka art school. Since the 1990s, he has lived abroad, primarily in Los Angeles, where he established his own studio.
His paintings are defined by gestural script, layered calligraphy, and strong textures that add depth to the canvas. Many of his works contain hidden messages and symbols, inviting viewers to interpret them freely. He draws inspiration from science, philosophy, and music, which he has been connected to since his youth.
Today, Havlíček is a recognized artist exhibiting worldwide, with his works included in both private and public collections.
Tina is an inspiring artist and co-owner of POM Gallery, active on the Czech art scene for over twenty years. With her passion and creative drive, she proves that formal education is not always necessary in the arts. We spoke with her about how she entered the world of art, what inspires her, and why an artist must also be a good entrepreneur.
